What’s The Major Panic Attacks Cause?

Panic attack is one of the worst things that could befall a person. Once he or she is diagnosed to have this disorder, life would be tantamount to misery if neglected and not treated. Nobody ever wants to have panic attack. If you happen to have a friend or anybody you know who has this disorder, you will most likely see how hard it is for them.

Psychology books and literature describes panic attack as a sudden “period of intense fear and discomfort”. The word “fear”, alone by itself, already signifies something not good, what more if you add the word “intense” to it. The symptoms (and the real thing that happens during an attack) would constitute palpitations where you could swear that your heart can do 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, you will also experience severe sweating and trembling, and of course a lot more to add to it.

When people ask what causes such a problem, the answer would be many. Of all the researches and studies conducted for this disorder, there is still no pin pointing of what really is the major panic attacks cause. There are however a few factors that triggers this disorder.

We could say that one panic attacks cause would be the environment itself. If you live in a place where alcohol and tobacco and all manner of harmful factors are present, then it is more likely that you develop panic attack. This would lead to the lifestyle you are living. Environment plays a big role in a person’s life.

Another panic attacks cause could be the biological build up of a person. There could be some abnormalities in the brain that would in turn disrupt the proper function of it. When the brain does not function well, we can be sure that there will be at least one disorder present in that person. This is supported with studies that show people who are experiencing panic attack also have psychotic disorder like schizophrenia.

There are also some claims that panic attack may be caused by genes. This would mean that panic attack can be transferred from the parent to the son, or in other words, inherited. More and more studies lately have shown that those who are suffering from panic attack may have relatives who also had some anxiety disorders. It may or may not be panic attack but it could well be some disorder like depression. This would mean that panic attacks cause could also sometimes “run in the blood”.

So far, these three (environment, biological make up, and genes) are the major causes of panic attacks. The future may add some to them, or that the list may go on longer, and who knows, maybe in the future, with the help of science and technology, we will be able to really pin point the “major”  cause of panic attacks.

As of now, let us be satisfied with the information that we have. We must be aware and we must guard ourselves from acquiring such disorder if it can be prevented. One sure way to prevent it would be to stay away from stress as much as you can.
