Our minds like our hearts never stop working. Even if we are sleeping, the heart still keeps on beating and the mind still keeps on giving off thoughts. This is why even if we sleep, there are still a good chance that panic attacks can happen. You may or may not be aware of this, you may even believe this or not but many times, panic attacks can happen while you sleep.

To recall a little about panic attacks, books define it as a sudden “period of intense fear and discomfort.” Take note that this is not just any ordinary everyday fear that we feel. It is not just the like of fear that you will not catch the bus on time or coffee might spill on your new shirt. Panic attack is one of the many anxiety disorders that is feared so much by people. Who knows, this might even be the “most” feared basing from its definition.

There are many symptoms of panic attacks. They include the “racing heart”, trembling, dizziness, nausea, sweating, difficulty in breathing etc. Often, the symptoms associated with panic attack may also be associated with other disease hence it is important to eliminate which is which to keep yourself risk free from a more dangerous or lethal disease.

But what about sleep panic attacks? It may seem hard to believe that they exist, or that they happen even as we sleep. But there is no denying of it. It is always depicted in movies. You see the scenes where they get up suddenly from their beds screaming? As they do they are already full in sweat or sometimes they tremble. When sound effects are added, you could sometimes hear their heart beat running very fast. There you have the symptoms already, trembling, sweating, and the racing heart.

How many panic attacks happen while you sleep is not yet known. But even if it is not yet known, one thing is clear; they happen as we sleep. Now, you may ask why it still happens when we sleep, when there seems to be no reason that would trigger the panic attack.

Sleep panic attacks happen for some reasons. They may be triggered because of too much stress during the day. A person may have experienced something very heavy during the day like losing a sale or failing an examination and there was no outlet for it, then more likely that it will “hunt” him in his sleep. What will happen next is sleep panic attacks. Or it could possibly be caused of a big change in one’s life which will render him huge stress. A loss of a love one or job, or even starting of a new job, these are factors that may affect panic attack even as we sleep.

Even if it does not really happen like in the movies were they jump off their bed screaming, sometime you will get that feeling in the morning that you are still tired. Waking up tired in the morning can sometimes be explained that you had a sleep panic attack. This is really bad because either you will have more attack due to lack of rest or you will be afraid to sleep again because of the fear of an attack.

Sleep panic attacks happen. This is the reality. But even if it does, make it a point that this must not occur to you, or else complication would happen next.

Somebody might think that the main health concern in America is cancer or perhaps heart attack, but the reality tells us that it is anxiety disorder, not them. To back this fact with numbers, statistics has shown that 3% of the adult populations in the country are affected by it. This number, 3, may seem small but if we convert it to the real amount of how many, we get roughly 4 million individuals. No doubt, 4 million is not small.

There are many forms of anxiety disorder. Naming some, we have the generalized anxiety disorder of GAD, the obsessive compulsive disorder, or the loathsome panic disorder. These are just three of the many anxiety disorders known to man.

There are different symptoms for anxiety disorders. Some are very simple and some more complicated. Simple symptoms can go like worrying that is so frequent to be not normal anymore. At times, it can also go so complicated like the one you feel when you have a heart attack; the racing heart sensation. A person has to make sure that what he feels is of anxiety disorder because it could blend in with the daily routine or it could mimic that of a more dangerous disease.

When individuals are diagnosed to have anxiety disorders, they often think that there is no treatment to it. They easily give up hope. This is so wrong because there is actually a way to treat even the number health concern in America. The truth is, there is not just one anxiety disorder treatment, there are alternative for anxiety disorder treatment.

Three anxiety disorder treatments can be discussed in this article. First is the natural anxiety disorder treatment. Natural way means a change with your lifestyle and diet. Change of lifestyle and diet means that you should have a regular exercise coupled with a healthy diet. Now healthy diet does not just mean that you eat fruits and vegetables, you must also eliminate harmful substances like alcohol or tobacco.

The second anxiety disorder treatment that you could use is through counseling. They say that everything is “all in the mind.” This is somehow correct. Your state of mind, your thinking can determine much of your health. There are a lot of experts in this field who can give you talk to you and help you with your anxiety disorder.

Last of anxiety disorder treatment in this article is with the help of medicines. If talking or counseling can help you with your mind, medicines can help you with your brain. Most of the medicines that can help with anxiety disorder are anti depressant. What they do is they balance the neurotransmitters in the brain which are responsible to the way we feel. Take now however that you should never try to self medicate. Always consult a physician with the medicine that you must take.

The anxiety disorder treatments that are mentioned here are not all that is available. There may be other alternatives for the treatment of anxiety disorder. Always consult an expert for the best treatment for you.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, these are just three of the many in the list that would fall under anxiety disorder. It is therefore the number health problem in America affecting about 25% of the total populations of adults. Statistics of how many children it affects is yet unknown but it is evident that anxiety disorder children faces are real.

Although the number of children affected with anxiety disorder is not recorded, one thing for sure is that it is common among them. Much research and studies have shown that anxiety disorders in adults may have occurred during their childhood years. It is crucial to know as early as possible if anxiety disorder is being manifested in your child.

If a parent knows that his child has anxiety disorder and ask if it is ok, the answer would clearly be “no.” It is never ok for a child to have anxiety disorder in their tender years. Anxiety disorder children suffers if left untreated will cause severe complication as they age. When adults and they still carry the anxiety disorder from childhood, it will be more difficult to treat had it been treated in their early years.

One illustration of a person that has anxiety disorder during her childhood and had developed into obsessive compulsive disorder is the uncontrollable peeling of her hair. She is now wearing a wig to cover the bald spots in her head caused by this disorder where she peels one strand of her hair after the other. Whenever she feels stress in her school due to examination or feels fear for the results, she would peel her hair one at a time that a spot on her head would literally go bald.

It is real horror not to treat anxiety disorder in children. If you suspect that your child has anxiety disorder, then bring him immediately to professional care. To give you a basic knowledge of the symptoms that may occur to children, here are few manifestations: worry, apprehension, fear, and distress.

The symptoms are the tricky part. Most often, they are an everyday occurrences especially for children. We know that kids often worry. They worry about their pet being left at the vet, or their parent going away for a business trip. They also fear. Fear of the dark or fear of being left alone. However, you can know if it is not normal anymore if they occur too often.

Anxiety disorder children faces will really give them and their parents as well a big problem. If it will not be treated chances are that it will affect the child’s concentration and learning. This two are very crucial for children who are growing and are gaining experience in life. It can also affect their skills in decision making or even their mere thinking.

Do not despair if you think that your child have anxiety disorder. Go seek a professional help immediately. It will give you comfort to know that anxiety disorders are treatable and you child can get away from its grip even before they grow as adults.

Panic attack is described as a “period of intense fear and discomfort.” It always come when you never thought it would and we know, most of the time by experience, that when we are caught off guard of something, it would usually irritate us. Panic attack is one the most feared disorder ever known to man.

Hearing that more than 4 million Americans are plague with this disorder is bad but what is worse is to hear that not so many of them are treated yet. This means that there are so many out there who are still suffering from panic attack. If left untreated, many more complications will develop from it and one of which is agoraphobia or the fear of being with many people.

It gives us hope though to know that panic attack is treatable. As time goes by, studies and researches have tested and proven some methods to be successful in dealing with panic attacks. There are different types of treatment for panic attack. They include some natural treatments, counseling, and even medications.

There are many panic attack medications available for prescription. To name some, we have the Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), the Benzodiazepines, the Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs), the Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), the Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs). There are other medications which may be used for panic attacks aside from these stated.

Among all the medications available, there stands one that has proven its worth as a panic attack medication. This medication is the first one to be mentioned in the above listed medication; the SSRIs. They are the most common and the most frequent prescribed and used panic attack medication. The reason why they are is due to the fact that this medication is the one that has the least side effects and is one of the most compatible to majority of individuals who are suffering from panic attacks.

To outline a brief and function of the SSRIs, imagine that our brains are factories producing many goods. These goods must be produced balance so that the “supply and demand” in the market would remain stable. So here we see the brain as the factory and think of the goods as the neurotransmitters in the brain. So if the goods the factory produce is not balance, then the SSRIs would do the balancing, hence making it stable.

The SSRIs may be the tested and proven panic attack medication but still, everything is subject to the doctor’s prescription. One must remember that every individual has different biological build up and therefore they have different needs. Some medications will work for this person but not for the other. To be sure, always consider a professional’s advice.

It is also best to couple this panic attack medication with counseling and healthy living. Not only it will help you ease your irritations brought by panic attack, it will also help you recover from the disorder fast. You will surely be grateful that at long last, you have found a way to get rid of your panic attack problems.

If we are to line up and rank all the mental disorders known to man, at least, one in the top three would be panic attack. This is how feared panic attack is. Survey has it that more than four million Americans suffer from this disorder. It is so heart breaking to hear such a number suffer for so much but that is what is real. We cannot escape it and w cannot even run away from it. Living a life with panic attack for those who suffer is considered half life. They do not live half as what is expected to.

If we get into the details of this disorder, we learn first its real meaning. Panic attack in books is defined as a “period of intense fear and discomfort.” We need not elaborate more on discomfort since we very well know what it means. However, intense fear is not so common. It can only occur when there are reasons. These reasons may include getting yourself in a robbery situation or in a dangerous calamity or perhaps in an accident. But with panic attack, even without reason, you get “intense fear.”

Fear alone is a common sensation. We feel it in everyday we live. It happens when we walk on the street or drink coffee in a restaurant. Intense fear on the other hand is another story. As what is mentioned above, we can say that it is one thing to fear, and it is another thing to fear intensely.

Now that we know the nature of panic attack, we can then proceed to the symptoms of it. A panic attack symptom is a long list in a book’s page. We need to know these symptoms to be sure that we do not have panic attack. But if we see that some symptoms are present, then we must act on it immediately. This is the wisdom behind knowing what a sure panic attack symptom is. This article would state three very sure panic attack symptoms.

First panic attack symptom is the “racing heart”. Let us imagine our heartbeat as the speed of a car. The normal heartbeat would be an ordinary family car. A “racing heart” beat would be a F50 Ferrari. If you are under a panic attack, it could even be a formula car.

Second panic attack symptom is shortness of breath. Others are fond of calling this as having difficulty in breathing. Try to imagine going up a very high mountain where air is getting thinner and thinner. Or try to imagine your neck and the air passage in it being tied into a know and letting a very small amount of air pass through it. If you have asthma, imagination would not be a problem.

Third panic attack symptom is trembling together with sweating. In other situation, only one of the two can occur and it would still be a symptom of panic attack. Trembling and sweating here are both uncontrollable. They can really get you going crazy that is why people with panic attack thinks they have gone insane.

These are the sure panic attack symptoms. These are the most common. It is important to asses yourself whether you show these symptoms or not.

Panic attack is one of the worst things that could befall a person. Once he or she is diagnosed to have this disorder, life would be tantamount to misery if neglected and not treated. Nobody ever wants to have panic attack. If you happen to have a friend or anybody you know who has this disorder, you will most likely see how hard it is for them.

Psychology books and literature describes panic attack as a sudden “period of intense fear and discomfort”. The word “fear”, alone by itself, already signifies something not good, what more if you add the word “intense” to it. The symptoms (and the real thing that happens during an attack) would constitute palpitations where you could swear that your heart can do 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, you will also experience severe sweating and trembling, and of course a lot more to add to it.

When people ask what causes such a problem, the answer would be many. Of all the researches and studies conducted for this disorder, there is still no pin pointing of what really is the major panic attacks cause. There are however a few factors that triggers this disorder.

We could say that one panic attacks cause would be the environment itself. If you live in a place where alcohol and tobacco and all manner of harmful factors are present, then it is more likely that you develop panic attack. This would lead to the lifestyle you are living. Environment plays a big role in a person’s life.

Another panic attacks cause could be the biological build up of a person. There could be some abnormalities in the brain that would in turn disrupt the proper function of it. When the brain does not function well, we can be sure that there will be at least one disorder present in that person. This is supported with studies that show people who are experiencing panic attack also have psychotic disorder like schizophrenia.

There are also some claims that panic attack may be caused by genes. This would mean that panic attack can be transferred from the parent to the son, or in other words, inherited. More and more studies lately have shown that those who are suffering from panic attack may have relatives who also had some anxiety disorders. It may or may not be panic attack but it could well be some disorder like depression. This would mean that panic attacks cause could also sometimes “run in the blood”.

So far, these three (environment, biological make up, and genes) are the major causes of panic attacks. The future may add some to them, or that the list may go on longer, and who knows, maybe in the future, with the help of science and technology, we will be able to really pin point the “major” cause of panic attacks.

As of now, let us be satisfied with the information that we have. We must be aware and we must guard ourselves from acquiring such disorder if it can be prevented. One sure way to prevent it would be to stay away from stress as much as you can.

Panic attack is something that can perhaps be classified as a not-so-common-but-getting-popular disorder. Since it is getting its popularity these days, it is wise to know the basic panic attacks information. It will help you greatly with or without this disorder. If you suspect you have this kind of disorder, then this reading will be very beneficial to you.

If you are sure that you do not have this disorder, read on, you might help a friend along the way. So what are the things worth knowing about panic attack?

Panic Attack Fact 1: First of all, did you know that panic attack is affecting more than four million American? Yes, this is how much it affects the nation. Of course, this is not only limited to Americans. Other nationalities also have this disorder because panic attack, like God, is no respecter of person. American or not, panic attack could be present in any individual.

Panic Attack Fact 2: Another panic attack information worth remembering is that this disorder, when it attacks, could hit you for just a few minutes. But then, there are instances, as some cases would suggest that it could last longer. This panic attacks information is very important because when you are sure that it is panic attack, then in just a matter of few minutes, it would go away. If it last often longer than a few minutes, then perhaps it is some other disorder.

Panic Attack Fact 3: Aside from affecting four million Americans and that it last for just a few minutes, did you know that panic attacks can be treated? A lot of people often have a mistaken notion that panic attack, once acquired or developed, can never be straightened back up. They think that it will stay with their system forever. This is not true. You will even be surprised that 90% of individuals suffering from panic attacks have already been treated well enough that they now live a panic attack free life.

Panic Attack Fact 4: Going further, panic attack can have a great resemblance to heart attack. This panic attacks information is very crucial as to get you away from the risk of a very fatal heart attack. It does not take a genius to know that heart attack can take away your life right after you fall on the floor when no one can come for help. You have to go get professional help to divide the thin line between the two attacks.

Panic Attack Fact 5: Last but not the least, panic attack is not hereditary. A note to this panic attacks information: this is highly debatable. Some say that it really runs in the blood but some say it does not. Anxiety disorder may run in the blood but not panic attack.
